I know I haven't sent you lots of posts lately, but make sure you read Jason's newest post.
This is who we (CCC) are and what a difference the role you play makes in a person's life. A place for people to feel accepted and to find hope in Christ.

If you notice I have placed Ed and Jason's blogs on the side of this blog so you can go to them whenever you wish. They are blogging about some cool stuff.

Multi site? What does that mean for us?

Ok everyone many of you got to hear from me last week and the few of you who didn't got to hear Ed on Sunday talking about what's next for us as a church. If you have missed both of those meeting please goto our church website and click on resources and listen to the message. But here is a question that has come up a few times already that i want to clarify. If Bill is gone who is in charge of the video or tech team? Here is my answer: I am not gone. I am still a part of this church. We are one church many locations. So what that means is during the week I will continue to lead the tech team with the many things that need to be done. But on Sunday, when I'm at the new location, the video director is in charge of the video team and each postion leader is in charge of their postions in the booth with John Loyd as leader of entire booth. Postion leaders if you don't know are: KC on lights, John on sound, Lori on computer and David H. on prompter.

Also, as promised here is the extended version of Ed's interview with me concerning multi-site. Hope this helps answer some more of your questions.



Thank you so much for your many kind comments over the past week. This has been exciting week and I glad I could share some of it with you.

Future of Community Christian Church

Ok there was a ton of information thrown at you at Frontline. And you will get more this Sunday. I wanted to give you a place to ask questions and I will do my best to answer you.
Like I said, I will post my interview next week and post some more information that might help you. But in the meantime feel free to comment on this with questions so we all can read and be on the same page as we move forward in the new exciting area that God is sending us.

Field of Wookie

Yes, last week we made a video that will go down as one of the strangest videos we have ever made. I will put the video here soon, but suffice to say it was strange. But as I said from the stage, I laugh everytime I watch it. Maybe that says something about me. Anyway, here are some pictures from the shoot I thought you all might enjoy. Remember it was nearly 100 degrees the day of the shoot.

For all of you who shoot video, particularly in the field here is a great guide sheet called Tip sheet for Videographers. I found it very helpful in many circumstance. This will teach you about shot composition, lighting, audio tips, preplanning and many other things. So if you what to become a better shooter check this out and maybe print it and take it with you on shoots.

Ok simon has reminded me that I have been quite slack on the blogging on this site lately. And you know what, he is right. I'm very sorry. All I can say is hang on. There will be much to blog about in the future. Right now well not so much. So there I have blogged even if it's very lame. More later.

Summer Camp

Bill, the date of the camp are June 4 through the 8, with a performance
on the 9th. Times are 9 to noon each day. Children ages 6 to 12 can
attend, including church members kids. There is no charge. We mostly
need help with "security", just making sure things run smoothly. Mike
may need someone to help with equipment, either running it or
loading/unloading each day (check with him on this). Rachael may also
need someone to just push buttons for her while she teaches
choreography.

Ok our Big Push time for the church is over. Our team was outstanding during this time. There were so many events going on and we were all over the place supporting these ministries. We served the following events with this many tech people:

Orlando and baby update

First of all, update on baby is nothing new. Still in a holding pattern.

Now Orlando. Great conference on expedential church growth. So not much for us as a tech team but lots of cool stuff. Saw a cool rap / hip hop team Donnie would have loved it. Also saw some strange boxing. Ok for the good stuff. I was able to hear and be in many q & A sessions of guys that I have read about and feel like I know due to reading their blogs so much. They are the leaders of church growth across the country. Main speakers were from California, Chicago and Charleston. Well, you can guess that any trip with our staff is a crazy crazy time and this trip did not disapoint. We had lots of fun. Talked about tons of church stuff and are really getting ready for what's next for our church. Have you asked yourself that question yet? See earlier post. Well glad to be back and looking forward to looking over Becky's shoulder as she directs an awesome service tomorrow.

excitement

Well I'm trying to finish up some work tonight before I go out of town. I along with most of the staff will be attending a church growth conference this week in Orlando. We are praying and working hard here to come up with ideas to reach the thousands of lost people that are right around the corner from all of us. We have some great ideas that I'm very excited about. Please pray for us, now I really mean pray for us as we work out all the details of our church's next steps. I've been involved with church staffs for over a decade and I can say I have never been as excited about what's next in a church as I am right now. Thanks for serving in an awesome church that God is using daily to change lives.

What's Next

What's Next is such a great two words. In my life I need to be constantly asking God what's next. Why you might ask. Shouldn't I be happy with where I am? Well the short answer is no. I love my family, I love my job, I love my life, but if I just sit back an enjoy it who will that serve? Me. Is that what God placed us on this earth for? No. It's not about me but about Him. So as we as a church continue to find ways to reach the thousands all around us that Ed talked, let's say to ourselves what's next. For many of us what's next is not what we can imagine. As God shows you what's next for you, concerning service of the church, I pray you will step up and do it. It's not about you, us or me but it's about Him.

Hang on baby

No news is good news right now on the baby front. Nothing new to report. I would be great if little Samuel can stay in till end of next week. We will see. Anyway, I'll let you know when something happens.

Dawn called me a few hrs ago and let me know that Angelica is already 3 cm. So baby could come anytime between tonight or 2 weeks from now. I'll let you know. Can you say cinco babies?

Tech team everywhere

What a cool weekend for our team. This has been a dream of mine from the very beginning that our team would be big enough to be spread out all over the county doing all types of events some paid some volunteer all at the same time.

Here is what happened:

Fri - Bill and David were preparing for a wedding shoot at a reahursal
Sat - Donnie was shooting a dance recital, Bill & David were shooting a wedding, and KC, John and Lori were working the Hispanic Celebration with Jason Collins running another one of our cameras.
Fri to Sat - Becky, Matt, Simon, Austin and Philip were reviewing how Believe was doing on their camera work. They realized we do a pretty good job.
Sun - Keith directed a great service.

I just wanted to share with you how cool this weekend was for me. I'm just so excited that all of you have grown so much in your craft that we can do so many events. As we grow there will be more and more opportunities for us. We represent Christ in all these places through our excellence and attitude. Thanks for being willing. As you continue to grow in your skill, our team will improve as a whole and there will be more and more chances for us to represent Christ as we use our skills.

news from the edit world

As you know Donnie and David G. have been learning how to edit. Well their progress has been outstanding!! Donnie edited part of the Easter Bunny video for Easter (and made a cameo appearance) and this week is editing a major video for the Frontline Leadership meeting on Saturday. David has quickly mastered the Last Week Videos and has made them even better. They are really doing an awesome job. Great job both of you.

Can you say, basketball team?

Ok everyone here is my chance to post my big personal news. It looks like God has plans for our family to grow again. Yes, we are in the process of adopting a baby again. This time we are adopting locally (Atlanta). The birthmother's due date is May 10th or so. But due to the fact that she has already had 4 we expect this baby to come early. So if all goes well, the end of this month or so we will have another baby. I know crazy, but sometimes God's plans for us can be a little scary but it's always better to follow Him, so we are. As in all adoptions, this is not a done deal till 10 days after the birth but as of now all looks good. Anyway, please be in prayer for us, but particularly the birthmother. This is a very brave but difficult decision for her. I will tell you more as it gets closer. We do know the baby will be a boy. Thanks for you prayers.

The Easter that was

I have never been more proud of our you (our tech team). We worked so well together and pulled off the most difficult service our church has ever done. All of you were so focused and so helpful. Without you this could not have been done. I just wish all of you could hear all the positive things that have been said about our team. That is all because of you. Thank you so much for all the time you gave to the church during this Easter weekend. Do you realize we had nearly 50 people serving on creative arts team yesterday!! I will post more soon, but I just wanted to say thank you. You are the best.

Less than 48 hrs

Well we FINALLY got the video signal good in the tent. This problem (rolling video) began on wednesday and at 11:30 this morning we got it done.

In a few hours the carpet is showing up, then 200 chairs need to be put up. Also, somewhere during that time our beat up car is arriving that will need to be picked up and placed on the stage in the main auditorium.
Ed, Jason and I will be practing soon.

It is crazy and fun around here. Looking forward to most of you being in the here tomorrow for all fun.

Jason and I were just talking about the service and we realize that this service has so many incrediable elements in it. If all works well, this has potential to be one of our best services. Please pray for all the tons of people that are coming, that through all the all these great things they will hear God.

The tent has arrived and it is beginning to go up. Should take about 4 hrs. So around 1pm or so it should be up. If I have time I'll put a picture here for ya.

It's getting really busy around here. The tent should (I empasis) should be going up tomorrow, lots of planning and video producing going on. Last night both bands practiced and all looks good on their part for Easter. The invite card, you know CCC stuff with chicks went out yesterday so you should be receiving them in your mailbox today or tomorrow. Use the cards and the fact that it's Easter to invite people. This service will just ROCK. Who else would be playing Goo Goo Dolls!! Anyway, when the tent goes up I'll let you know here in case you want to check it out. Gotta go, there are 4 videos for Easter and only 2 are complete.

Easter Update

Ok not much to say right now but here's what I can tell you.

1. 11 days to go.
2. Tent has changed a little but all is going well.
3. Service is totally planned and totally crammed full of stuff.
4. We're kicking off a new series on Easter called Overhaulin'
5. Lamar is producing the service with Mark Smith being the tent producer.
6. It's just going to be an awesome service so come ready for a great practice on next Saturday.

I'll tell you more as we get closer.

Coffee House

Hey everyone,
In my email I forgot to remind you about the Coffee House tomorrow night. It's for all creative arts and you are invited to attend. It should be lots of fun. Below is the original email:

On March 22, from 7:00 to 9:00 in the evening, we are hosting a Coffee House style performance at (where else?) Espresso Lane in Downtown Newnan. This is an opportunity for performers to showcase their talents and a chance for all of us to invite some friends to come listen to some great singers and musicians. In addition, just hanging out with people who may not be inside our church circle gives all of us a chance to build relationships and maybe influence people in a positive way.So who are these amazing performers, you may ask? Why… you are! We’d like a variety of styles, so whether you have a band, love to sing show tunes, or are practicing for your American Idol audition, we need you.

If you’re interested in doing a short set (2 or 3 songs), please contact Mike Parker or Jennifer Dorrell and we’ll sign you up.Thanks for your interest and participation in this project. We’re excited and hope to widen our circle of friends and people interested in the Creative Arts.

EASTER SATURDAY Run Through times

Below is the schedule for the Saturday April 7th run through:

8:15am Sound ops need to arrive and turn everything on

8:30am Both bands arrive and get instruments tuned and ready. Prompter, lights, computer & video directors need to arrive

9:00am Sound check with both bands. Vocalists, Drama, rest of Video team need to arrive.

9:30am Vocal and mic check (vocalists and drama)

10:00am Countdown starts

We will continue to do run throughs until we have our timing correct. Be prepared for this to take some time.
We hope to be finished by lunch, but be prepared for it to last longer.

Big Push Invites

Ok everyone here is our post for invites during the big push (March - April). Remember this is just a way for us to measure if we are growing in our love for others. So if you invite someone to church please comment here about it and leave the person's name so we can join you in praying for that person.

Last note, if the person never attends church it's ok. Remember is about you and your heart. If we can get out there talk to others we are doing what God has called us to do.

Special Days

Sometimes I'll post things that have nothing to do with tech but just my life, here is one of those.

This year my wife and I have started "special days". How it works for us is this.
January is Daddy/ Dylan day, Feb is Mommy/Sarah day, March is Daddy/Ariana day, April is Mommy/Dylan day ....
So 1 day each month one of us does something special with one of them.
Will is still too young but I'm sure he's looking forward to jumping right in.
Anyway in Jan I took Dylan to the Braves open house. He and I loved it. (I got to pitch in the bullpen)
Last month Dawn took Sarah on her day. They went and had breakfast at Panera and then did a little shopping. I was huge to her.

Ok so now here is where I need your help. This Saturday I'm having my Ariana day. It's a special day for a 4 yr old girl with her daddy. I'm looking for ideas that are not too expensive. Any ideas?

Easter Sunday Practice

It is now official. The tent will be up by Wednesday April 4th and sound, lights computer, etc ready by 9am Saturday April 7th. We will practice Saturday morning. Exact times coming by the end of the week.
